LegalDMCA & Copyright Policy
HoomTV respects the intellectual property rights of content creators and rights holders. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and equivalent copyright legislation applicable in the United States. This policy sets out how we handle copyright infringement claims.
1. Our content licensing position
HoomTV operates as a lawful reseller of IPTV subscription services. We do not host, store or originate the content delivered through the Service. All channels and video-on-demand titles are sourced from licensed content providers and distributors, and we are committed to ensuring our operations respect applicable copyright law.
2. Reporting copyright infringement (takedown notice)
If you own a copyright, or are authorized to act for the owner, and believe content accessible through hoomtv.com infringes that copyright, you may send a written DMCA takedown notice to our designated agent.
Your notice must include all of the following
- Identification of the copyrighted work — a description of the work you claim has been infringed. A representative list is acceptable where multiple works are covered.
- Identification of the infringing material — the specific URL(s) or sufficient information for us to locate the allegedly infringing content.
- Your contact information — full name, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
- Good faith statement — a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- Accuracy statement — a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the copyright owner.
- Signature — your physical or electronic signature.
Where to send it
Email: [email protected]
Subject line: DMCA Takedown Notice — hoomtv.com
Post: 222 South 9th Street, Suite 1600, Minneapolis, MN 55402, United States
We acknowledge valid notices within 5 business days and take appropriate action, which may include disabling access to the material and notifying the relevant content provider.
3. Counter-notification
If you believe material was removed or disabled through mistake or misidentification, you may submit a written counter-notification to [email protected].
Your counter-notice must include
- Identification of the removed content — description, URL(s) and its location before removal.
- Statement under penalty of perjury — that you believe in good faith the material was removed through mistake or misidentification.
- Your contact information — full name, address, telephone number and email address.
- Consent to jurisdiction — that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts in the United States and will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice.
- Signature — your physical or electronic signature.
On receipt of a valid counter-notification we forward it to the original complainant. If they do not file a court action within 10 to 14 business days, we may restore the content at our discretion.
4. Repeat infringer policy
HoomTV maintains a strict policy on repeat infringers. Accounts subject to multiple valid copyright infringement notices are reviewed, and we reserve the right to terminate subscriptions of users determined to be repeat infringers. Termination on these grounds does not entitle the user to a refund, consistent with our terms of service.
5. Misuse of the DMCA process
Filing a false takedown notice is a serious legal matter. Under the DMCA (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)) and equivalent laws, anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and attorney fees.
6. Response times
Please allow up to 5 business days for a reply to DMCA-related correspondence. Routine support questions are handled far faster through the contact page and should not be sent to the copyright address.
7. Related policies
This policy sits alongside our terms of service, which govern acceptable use and account termination, our privacy policy, which covers how we handle the personal data contained in a notice, and our refund policy, which explains why accounts terminated for infringement are not refunded. Details of what the Service actually carries are published on the channel list.
